About Nathan Edmunds

Nathan Edmunds was born in Panteg Hospital and spent his early years of education at Coed-Eva Primary School before completing his secondary education at Fairwater Comprehensive School, now known as Cwmbran High. He started work as an electrical apprentice with the South Wales Electricity Board and upon completing his apprenticeship he moved into an office role designing renewable energy projects, including Carno Wind Farm, which was the largest windfarm in Europe at that time.

For the past 30 years he has been designing wind farms, landfill gas generation sites and battery energy storage systems across the world; helping to provide a clean source of energy for people on every continent. Nathan is passionate about helping to ensure that our children and grandchildren can live in a more sustainable world.

He supports several charities, including Alzheimer's Society, Dementia UK, Cancer Research UK, St Davids Hospice Care and Macmillan Cancer Support. Nathan assists in organised events, including the Alzheimer's Memory Walk, Cancer Research UK Shine Night Walk, Cardiff Half Marathon and has has undertaken personal fundraising challenges, such as walking 20km around Newport for Dementia UK and a 30 day 240mile walking challenge for Cancer Research UK. In October 2026 Nathan will be trekking 100km across the Sahara Desert, in Morocco, raising funds for Alzheimer's Society.

Nathan volunteers as a community campaigner for the recently formed Torfaen Climate Ambassadors Network. The group consists of volunteers who focus on education, encouraging behavioural change and identifying innovative solutions to local challenges supporting the community to become net carbon zero by 2050.

He is a keen sportsman who played youth football at Llanyrafon AFC before playing most of his senior career at PILCS FC. Since retiring Nathan now suports his children's sporting ambitions, with one of his children learning Taekwondo and another of his children going down the oval shaped ball route, playing rugby for Croesyceiliog RFC. He is a keen amateur photographer and can be found most Saturday afternoons taking photos of the matches for the local rugby club.

Nathan is married to Ceri and has three children.
